A Leitrim Cllr has reiterated that better public transport would entice more people to live in rural parts of the North West.
It comes as Sinn Fein are set to bring a motion before the Dail later, calling for more investment in public transport.
It also calls for a dedicated transport police unit to help reduce anti-social behaviour on trains and buses.
Speaking to Ocean FM news, local Sinn Fein Cllr Padraig Fallon says public transport has been a big issue in the region for some time now, and says it could also play a role in addressing issues surrounding school transport :
