A motorist has been arrested for drug driving in Sligo.
Roads Policing in Sligo arrested the motorist for driving under the influence of drugs after they tested positive for cocaine.
Gardaí from the Ballymote District were conducting a large scale checkpoint on the N4 near Castlebaldwin on Sunday afternoon when the detection was made.
As a result of the checkpoint, two people were detected in possession of controlled substances and a vehicle was seized in relation to road traffic offences.
A number of other drivers will be receiving Fixed Charge Penalties in relation to a variety of other offences.
Gardaí have renewed their appeal to motorists to never drive under the influence of either drink or drugs.
