A motorist has been caught speeding in Sligo.
Gardai have confirmed that while conducting a speed checkpoint, a car was detected travelling at 149km/h in a 100km/h speed zone by the Roads Policing Unit.
The vehicle's tax was also found to have expired 589 days ago and was subsequently seized.
Gardai are reminding all road users to slow down and help save lives.
