Motorists in North West have lowest level of penalty points

North West counties have the lowest level of motorists with penalty points in the country.

Figures published by the Road Safety Authority show that licence holders in Donegal were the least likely to pick up penalty points for motoring offences in 2023,

The data shows that just 3.4% of motorists in the county received points last year.

Both Sligo and Leitrim also recorded significantly low rates at 4% each.

Offaly came out on top during 2023, with 6.2% of motorists in the county getting penalty points last year.
