Motorists urged to be careful on icy roads this morning

Commuters are being urged to allow extra time for their journeys today.

With the cold snap icy conditions are reported in many places, while schools are re-opening after the Christmas break, with many workers on extended holidays also making a return.

Barry Aldworth from the AA says both are likely to have an impact on traffic, and commuters should allow extra time for travel:
