A South Donegal community is in shock following the tragic death of a young man from the area in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
He has been named locally as 27-year old Emmett Blain, who had been teaching in Dubai.
It's understood the young man died after a fall from a balcony or roof.
He had taught in the Abbey Vocational School in Donegal Town and St Eunan's College in Letterkenny before travelling abroad.
Saint Eunan’s College issued a statement on its Facebook page, saying: “Everybody in Saint Eunan’s College would like to send their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Emmett Blain.
"Emmett was well liked in the classroom and a great character in the staff room - he will be remembered fondly by everybody who met him. Rest in Peace Emmett.”
He was also a member of the St Naul's GAA Club.
Club chairman Joseph Brennan told Ocean FM News of the deep sadness in the local area:
