Moves to make film on Ballyshannon's Rory Gallagher

There are moves to make a film on the life and music of the late Rory Gallagher.

The world-famous blues and rock multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer was born in Ballyshannon, Co Donegal, in 1948 and died in London in 1995.

He is regarded as one of the world's greatest guitarists.

At the weekend, thousands of people visited Ballyshannon for the annual Rory Gallagher Festival.

It was at this event, during a special Ocean FM programe broadcast live from the Abbey Arts Centre, that Rory's brother, Donal, revealed how efforts to make the film are at an early stage:
