It's been confirmed that Letterkenny University Hospital is currently dealing with nine outbreaks of respiratory illnesses across the facility.
People are being asked not to visit patients at the hospital if they are feeling unwell due to rising rates of respiratory illness, namely RSV, COVID-19 and flu in the community.
In a statement, Manager at Letterkenny University Hospital Sean Murphy is urging people to be mindful of the safety of vulnerable patients due to the very high levels of respiratory viruses circulating in the community.
People are advised to not visit the hospital if they have a cough, cold, temperature, runny nose or sneezing.
All visitors will be requested to wear a face mask.
In a statement, Saolta says anyone who has respiratory symptoms should stay at home until they have been symptom free for 48 hours.
People are also being advised to contact their GP or GP out of hours service should they be concerned about their symptoms of if their condition worsens.
