Musician originally from Sligo to receive major Irish award

A West of Ireland musician is to receive a major Irish music for her contributions to the craft.

Deirdre Collis, originally from Collooney, will be presented with the Comhaltas Bardic Award at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.

Ms Collis will be granted the award due to her prolific career in the arts, and her mastery of cultural Irish instruments.
