National Broadband Ireland says the roll-out of high-speed broadband has moved a step closer for thousands of premises in Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim.
It's after the government announced that work to finalise the contract for the National Broadband Plan is well progressed
€135m is to be invested in Donegal to bring the high-speed service to 34,000 premises.
The Plan will also bring high-speed broadband to the 36% of premises in County Sligo that do not have it, and to the 51% in Leitrim awaiting the service.
The CEO of National Broadband Ireland, Peter Hendrick, has been giving Ocean FM News the latest update and timeline in relation to Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim.

And Mr Hendrick added that rollout of the high-speed service was not dependent on the erection of 5G masts, which is controversial in some areas.
