Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny has called for a national database to be set up to help the families of 'essential' workers during the current pandemic.
Many frontline workers are finding it difficult to secure the services of childcare, particularly in the north west.
Deputy Kenny claims the situation has got so serious that some workers are threatening to quit their jobs because of a lack of crèch facilities - and the coronavirus regulations which prevent family members from taking up childminding duties.
