An event is taking place in Sligo today to mark the National Day of Commemoration.
Ceremonies are being held around the country to remember all Irishmen and Irishwomen who died in wars or on service with the United Nations and other international organisations in the service of peace.
One of the events will be held at City Hall, Quay Street, Sligo at 1.30pm this afternoon with attendees asked to be in their seats by 1pm.
While the Taoiseach and President will be attending Dublin's Royal Hospital Kilmainham where a wreath will be laid.

Other locations include Fitzgerald's Park in Cork city, the University of Galway, Kilkenny Castle, on the grounds of Limerick City and County Council and at the John Condon Memorial in Waterford city.
