The President of IT Sligo says that the start of the next Academic Year for new students entering third level education could be as late as November.
That timeline was echoed by the Taoiseach in the Dáil on Thursday.
Dr Brendan McCormack says that if the revised Leaving Certification examination schedule of late July/Early August is kept, the likelihood is that new students will face a shorter and more intense opening college term.

The final arrangements for the exams, the exam centres, social distancing and other measures will all be determined by the State Examinations Commission on foot of public health advice in June.
