The HSE says new arrangements for providing respite services for those with disabilities at Seaview House in Mountcharles will be in place by the first quarter of 2019.

Previously, Donegal Independent Deputy Thomas Pringle raised about provision of services at Seaview House

Deputy Pringle said he had raised his concerns with Health Minister Simon Harris and Minister of State for Disabilities Finian McGrath.

Meanwhile, in response to Ocean FM News, the HSE says it is engaging with the service provider RehabCare to deliver respite services at Seaview House as a result of ongoing challenges in providing a consistent respite services.

It says there will be an increase in respite service provision from three to five days.

The HSE adds that there will be a planned transfer from the HSE to RehabCare to lessen disruption to services and ensure continuity of care.

It also says it is appropriate that services to people with a disability are provided from a range of care providers.
