new CAP rules 'step in the right direction'

Small scale farmers in the north west will earn more under the new Common Agricultural Policy.

That's according to Midlands/North West MEP, Chris MacManus following agreement from the European Parliament on new CAP rules.

Under the new rules, there will be a limit on the subsidies the big farms can receive and small farms will benefit from a “redistribution payment”.

MEP, MacManus says it is a step in the right direction.
