Public order offences was the most common type of crime in Bundoran while in Boyle, criminal damage was the most reported crime.

Dangerous or negligent acts, which largely relate to drink or drug driving offences, represent just 3.5pc of all recorded crime in Ireland.

However, such offences were still the most common crime recorded in several areas last year, including Ballymote and a number of stations in Donegal such as Burnfoot, Kilmacrennan and Carrigart.
