New defective block committee chair elected in Donegal

Fianna Fáil Councillor Martin McDermott has been elected chairperson of Donegal County Council’s Enhanced Defective Blocks Committee.

He was elected at a special meeting of the local authority held earlier this week.

Councillor McDermott was elected following the first count in June’s elections in the Cardonagh electoral area.

Newly elected 100% Redress Party Councillor Tomás Seán Devine meanwhile, was elected vice-chairperson.
