New cardiac defibrillators are now available in three areas in east Sligo.

They have been installed this week at Sooey Community Hall, McTiernan's Daybreak in Ballygawley and at Kilross National School.

It follows a major fundraising drive.

The code to open the cabinets that secure the defibrillators is 0000, and they are available to anyone faced with an emergency.

Defibrillators are used to treat a person who may have a heart attack by delivering an electric shock to the system.

Meanwhile, the Sooey Ballygawley Defibrillator Group says further CPR training will take place in September in Sooey Hall, with dates to be confirmed shortly.
