An extension at Ransboro New Central National School in Co Sligo has been given the green light.
It’s after the Education Minister Norma Foley granted funding to the addition of a new classrooms at the school.
The successful application will provide for a new general classroom which is funded under the additional school accommodation programme.
The exact amount of the grant is not released due to procurement rules.
In a statement, Sligo Leitrim TD Frank Feighan says its hoped that work on procurement can be advanced as soon as possible and that there won’t be any major disruption to pupils in the classrooms and work is completed before September 2024 when a new school year begins.
