New figures show it took an ambulance 44 minutes to arrive at a life-threatening emergency in Leitrim.

The information shows that response-time targets aren't being met in up to 50 percent of such cases across the country.

On two occasions it took an ambulance over an hour to arrive at a life-threatening emergency.

There were response-times of over an hour in Kildare and Cork.
