An Garda Síochána has announced a range of promotions, allocations and transfers at the ranks of Assistant Commissioner, Chief Superintendent and Superintendent.
Goretti Sheridan, a native of Rathmullan in Donegal, has been transferred to the role of Superintendent at Sligo Garda Station.
Superintendent Sheridan, who had been based in Castlerea in county Roscommon, replaces Carrick-on-Shannon native Superintendent Ray McMahon.
He is taking up a new role with the National Roads policing unit at Garda HQ in Dublin.
Inspector Sheridan and the Castlerea Garda Force were rocked with grief last month following the shooting dead of detective garda Colm Horkan.
Inspector Mandy Gaynor succeeds retiring Superintendent Kevin English in Carrick-on-Shannon. She was previously based in Ballina.
Elsewhere, Padraic Burke has been named as the new Superintendent to Ballymote Garda Station.
All three appointees will begin their new posts immediately.
