A new lobby group which wants to highlight the major issues facing rural Ireland is seeking to attract members from the north west.
The organisation called 'Irelands Future' will focus on issues in the areas of agriculture, education, forestry and climate change.
Former chairperson of the Mayo branch of the Irish Natura and Hill Farmers Association Gerry Loftus is setting up the group.
Mr Loftus says the region is facing some of the most serious problems in recent history and action needs to taken to ensure people's voices are heard.

Mr Loftus says he hopes to hold a series of meetings across the region in the coming months.
