Sligo County Council's new cathaoirleach has listed support for immigrant communities, Sligo County Council's finances, investment in infrastructure and tourism among his priorities for the year ahead.
Fine Gael Councillor Hubert Keaney says Sligo needs both the Eastern Bridge and the Western Distributor Road, the development of O'Connell Street and improved mobile and broadband coverage.
He outlined his priorities after having been unanimously chosen yesterday afternoon to succeed outgoing cathaoirleach, Fianna Fail's Rosaleen O'Grady.
