New tenants in the North West are facing higher rental prices.
According to the latest data released today by the Residential Tenancies Board, Sligo came in above the threshold of €1000 for new tenancies at €1,113 while Leitrim had the lowest average rent for new tenancies at €907.
Donegal recorded the lowest rent level in the country for existing tenancies in the final quarter of last year at €707.
Donegal was only one of four counties in Ireland to remain below the threshold of €1000 for new tenancies, alongside Leitrim, Monaghan and Tipperary.
The figure in Leitrim is €721 while in Sligo the figure for existing tenancies in the final quarter of 2023 was €833.
