New water plan to benefit north Sligo

It's expected that a new water plan will benefit over 4,500 people in the North Sligo region.

Extended dry periods of weather have played havoc with water supplies for Carney, Maugherow, Grange, Cliffoney, Mullaghmore and their surrounding areas in recent times.

Local Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy the uncertainty in relation to water is impeding future residential and commercial development.

Cllr. Healy has welcomed the confirmation from Irish Water that they are considering a number of options to resolve this issue and that they will identify a preferred long term solution later this year:
