Fianna Fáil’s Niall Blaney has been re-elected to the Seanad’s Agricultural Panel.
The Agriculture Panel has the joint-most number of seats of all the panels in the Seanad, with 11, and had 28 candidates standing for election.
Donegal’s Blaney was first elected to the Seanad in 2020, having served as a TD from 2002 until 2011.
Counting of votes commenced on Friday with Blaney picking up 96,537 votes in total.
He is one of six candidates elected on the Agricultural Panel so far which are: Malcolm Noonan (Green Party), Joanne Collins, Paul Daly, Teresa Costello. (Fianna Fáil) and Victor Boyhan (Independent).
