Independent Councillor Niamh Kennedy has been elected Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council for the next 12 months.
Councillor Kennedy, who is based in Killybegs, is currently serving her third term on Donegal County Council, and is one of only three women on the council.
Fine Gael's Jimmy Kavanagh has been elected as Leas-Cathaoirleach.
