Former champion jockey Nina Carberry will seek Fine Gael's nomination to run in the upcoming European elections in the Midlands North West Consituency.
She confirmed that she would seek the nomination on Monday evening.
A former champion jockey and winner of RTE's Dancing With The Stars, Ms Carberry says that her campaign will be based on honesty and hard work.
She also wants to do more to ensure farmers have more support, following protests that took place all over Europe in the last month.
