No arrests made yet following burglary of councillor's home

No arrests have been made yet in connection with the burglary of Sligo Councillor Joe Queenan's home in Enniscrone.

Mr Queenan and his family were at the local election count at the Sligo Park Hotel on Saturday afternoon, June 8th when thieves gained entry to his home.

The house was completely ransacked, and a sum of money was taken during the incident.

It was the second time in a matter of months that Councillor Queenan has been burgled.

His “Check Out” shop in Enniscrone was targeted in the early hours of Good Friday on March 29th with several items stolen.

An investigation is continuing, with Gardaí appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

They say that so far, no arrests have yet been made.
