The fact there is no hotel in North Leitrim has been highlighted as a major barrier to the development of tourism in the region.
Fianna Fail Councillor Justin Warnock has suggested that some sort of a tax incentive needs to be introduced to help attract hospitality investors to the region.
He raised the issue at a meeting of Manorhamilton Municipal District this week where a number of motions addressed concerns about barriers to tourism in the region.
Councillor Warnock outlined to Ocean Fm News how he feels a tax incentive could work:
