€250,000 in one-off funding for the North West Hospice has been announced.
Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly announced a national allocation of €10m for palliative and end-of-life care.
Sligo/Leitrim Fianna Fail TD Marc MacSharry says hospice services, particularly in the North West, are often the 'forgotten relative' when it comes to adequate supports from government.
Deputy MacSharry says at least in this instance, the funding will help ease some of the pressure the North West Hospice has been facing.
