North West hospitals among the five busiest hospitals in the country

Both of the North West's two main hospitals are among the top five most overcrowded facilities in the country today.

Sligo Unversity Hospital is the second busiest hospital, with 35 people on trollies there this morning.

Meanwhile, Letterkenny University Hospital is the fourth most overcrowded, with 26 people waiting for a bed there, bringing the total in the North West to 61.

University Hospital Limerick continues to be the most overcrowded, with 78 people awaiting admission there today.

Nationwide, today's figures stand at 396.
