North west households among lowest electricity bills

Households in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal were among those with the lowest electricity bills in the country last year.

The average household in Donegal paid 726 euro in electricity bills in 2023, the lowest in the country.

753 euro was paid by households in Leitrim while in Sligo, the average paid was 835 euro.

Nationally, the average household paid 880 euro in electricity bills in 2023, down 3 per cent on the previous year.

With households in Kildare, Meath and Wicklow experiencing the highest electricity bills in the country last year.
