A North West MEP has called upon the European Commission to clarify details of a €1 billion Mercosur support fund for farmers.
The safety net allocation aims to offset losses suffered by the sector as a result of South American beef imported into Europe.

However, questions are being raised over how the funding will be applied with Irish farmers set to lose out over the trade deal.
