North West to get almost €7.5M for refugee support

The North West has been sanctioned almost 7.5 million to support communities in welcoming Ukrainian refugees.

Donegal County Council is getting the largest share at 3.1 m, Leitrim is getting 2.2 m while Sligo is to receive 1.4 million euro.

It's part of a wider allocation of 50 million euro nationwide fund and will go towards refurbishing the likes of local sports clubs and facilities.

The money will also help upgrade of community facilities such as play areas, walkways, parks and community gardens.
