Now is not the time to revisit water charges

A Leitrim Councillor has criticised a member of the Green Party for suggesting the subject of water charges should be re-visited.

Junior Minister Malcom Noonan says the possibility of reintroducing water charges should be looked at in order to enhance infrastructure and water quality.

Leitrim Councillor has been a long time advocate for local authorities to take ownership of the provision of water.   Cllr Fallon  says that with the country gripped in a Covid-19 pandemic, now is not the time to raise water charges:
