Number of people waiting for a bed in North West hospitals drops

There were 56 people waiting for a bed at the two main North West hospitals this morning.

The number waiting has dropped significantly compared with yesterday's figure of 76.

Today, 30 people were waiting at Letterkenny University Hospital while a further 26 were waiting at Sligo.

Cork University Hospital was the most overcrowded with 80 people waiting there.

Nationally, there were 508 people waiting at hospitals across the country today.
