With almost 1700 distressed mortgage holders in the Counties of Sligo, Donegal and Leitrim eyebrows have been raised that only two of the cases managed to find a solution to their situation through the Mortgage to rent scheme.
The Government backed scheme has now been taken over by Home for Life and has an annual target of helping three and a half thousand distressed mortgage holders nationally.

CEO of Home for Life is Paul Cunningham says there are many benefits for distressed home owners making use of the programme and that there were a number of factors which contributed to the Scheme having a low completion rate in the past.
