Minister Kevin 'Boxer' Moran says he is meeting with the CEO's of County Councils around the country next month with a view to tackling flooding problems in different areas.
The Independent Minister of State now has responsibility for the OPW and flood relief.
While on a visit to Sligo today to launch a heritage guide at Carrowmore, the Minister has set aside time to meet with members of the Owenmore Flood Relief Committee.
He told Ocean FM News earlier that he feels a major scheme is needed to tackle some of the flooding issues in areas like south Sligo and he says a potential solution is bringing them into a CFRAM study which has up until now focused on urban areas:

He also says that he has set up a meeting with the CEOs of the Councils next month with a view to coming up with more solutions:
