Donegal County Council announced they have received funding of over 1 million euro as part of their community climate action fund.
The funding is to support small, medium and large-scale community projects within community energy, sustainable travel, food and waste, local climate action and shopping and recycling.
The community climate action grants range from two thousand to one hundred thousand euro, and is expected to run through to the end of 2029
Director of Services at Donegal County Council, Michael McGarvey stated that the aim is to make Donegal an environmentally stable and carbon neutral county by 2050.
