There were 18,305 outpatient appointments due to take place at Sligo University Hospital as of the 4th of November, .
Over 7,000 people are waiting for more than a year and over 2,000 are waiting for 2 years or more.
While 131 people are waiting for at least 4 years.
The majority, 4,109, are waiting between 0 and 3 months.
The departments with the longest waiting lists are in the Orthopaedics Department with 3,712 appointments followed by Otolaryngology with 2,966.
Sligo Independent Councillor, Declan Bree, is a member of the Regional Health Forum West.
Speaking to OceanFM News, he says reducing the waiting lists needs to be addressed going forward.
