Over €1 million in sports funding has been allocated for the North West.
Through the 2025 Core Funding for Sport, Sligo Sports Partnership will receive just under €480,000, Donegal Sports Partnership will get just under €440,000, and Leitrim Sports Partnership will secure just over €320,000.

This forms part of a national €12 million allocation across 29 local sport partnerships with increased funding for Women in Sport programmes targeting disadvantaged communities, teenage girls, older women, ethnic minorities, and those with disabilities.
The goal of the funding is to foster active communities and increase participation in sports at all levels.
