Overcrowding crisis to be discussed with Health Minister in Donegal today

The overcrowding crisis at Letterkenny University Hospital is one of a number of topics which will be discussed with Health minister Simon Harris on his visit to Donegal today.

There are 22 people waiting for a hospital bed at the hospital this morning according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

Just five of those are waiting on trolleys in the emergency department with a further 17 in the overflow areas of wards.

In Sligo University Hospital there are three people waiting for a bed.

Today's Trolley Watch report shows there are 439 people waiting for a bed in hospitals nationwide.

University Hospital Limerick is the worse affected today with 44 people waiting for a bed.

Betty Holmes of the Donegal Action for Cancer Care campaign group says it's time for the minister to recognise the problem at Letterkenny Hospital
