Sligo University Hospital’s overcrowding continues with an increase on yesterday’s figures.
According to the latest INMO trolley watch report, there were 61 admitted patients waiting for a bed in SUH this morning, an increase of 7 on yesterday.
This makes SUH the third most overcrowded hospital in Ireland today, only 4 behind Cork University Hospital on 65, and University Hospital Limerick on 123.
The HSE released a statement yesterday to request that people only attend the Emergency Department at the hospital if it is an emergency situation.
And they ask that people attend their GP or out of hours service in the first instance if at all possible.
The hospital acknowledges the long delays for patients and has apologised to any inconvenience or distress that it may cause.
