Sligo University Hospital was once among the most overcrowded facilities in the country on Friday morning.
According to the latest INMO Trolley Watch report, there were 42 admitted patients waiting for a bed, making it the third busiest.
The facility was only behind University Hospital Limerick on 99, and Cork University Hospital on 58.
Meanwhile, there were 10 people awaiting admission at Letterkenny University Hospital.
Nationally, there were 467 patients on trolleys earlier today.
