Pat the Cope Gallagher has confirmed he is to seek the Fianna Fáil nomination to be a candidate for the next General Election.
The former TD lost his Dail seat in the 2020 General Election.
Having been nominated by party members, the former MEP and Leas Ceann Comhairle says he seeks to fill what he believes is a vacuum in representation of Donegal in the Dail.
The Fianna Fail selection convention is due to take place in the coming weeks.
