Pat 'the Cope' Gallagher to contest European Elections

Pat 'the Cope' Gallagher  to contest European Elections

The former Donegal TD Pat ‘the Cope’ Gallagher is set to return to the political arena.

 

Earlier this year it was suggested that he would contest the next general elections however reports this morning are claiming he will now contest next summer’s European Elections.

Pat the Cope Gallagher will allow his name go forward as a nominee to become a Fianna Fáil candidate to contest the June 2024 deciders.

 

Fianna Fail have confirmed that Mr Gallagher, is one of the nominated candidates for the Midlands-North-West constituency.

It’s also believed that Donegal Senator Niall Blaney, Mayo Senator Lisa Chambers and former Minister for Agriculture, the Laois Offaly TD Barry Cowen are also seeking the party nomination to run in the new look constituency.

 

 

Pat the Cope Gallagher previously served as an MEP from 1994 to 2002 and again from 2009 to 2014.
