A man in his 40s has died after a collision with a car, while walking at Cloverhill in county Cavan on Saturday night.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, is uninjured.
The N54 at Plush has been closed pending a technical examination - Garda Forensic Collision investigators are at the scene and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward - especially any road users with dash-cam footage, who were travelling in the area between 10:30pm and 11:00pm last night.
