People in the northwest are more likely to use cash over card to reduce the risk of fraud.

Meanwhile, almost three quarters of Irish people worry the increased use of AI could lead to more sophisticated financial fraud.

The report by PTSB also found 80 per cent of people believe cash still has a purpose for certain payments, like tipping and children's pocket money.
