People invited to have say on Coolaney Village to Rockfield Footpath Scheme

People are being invited to have their say on the Coolaney Village to Rockfield Footpath Scheme.

 

A public consultation is currently underway with the closing date for submissions 5pm Friday May 3rd.

The scheme starts at the entrance to Fort Haven Residential Estate to Rockfield National School.

The objective is to create a pedestrian link connecting Coolaney Village to Rockfield National School.

 

The works involved are as follows:

• Remove the existing road boundary along the 850-metre stretch of the local road.
• Remove the existing utility poles and overhead wires.
• Provide and construct underground utility network.
• Extend the existing drainage network.
• Provide and construct a 3-metre-wide sharded concrete cycleway and footpath – subject to detailed design.

 

There will also be an in-person consultation Tuesday 30th from 4pm until 7pm in Coolaney Community Centre.
